In early 2018, Matt Lang was on his way to Nashville to record his first English-language album, and at that time, he didn’t speak a word of English. Produced by Danick Dupelle, that debut EP “Matt Lang” stayed at No.1 on the national iTunes Country Albums chart for multiple weeks in the fall of 2019. By that time, Matt was mastering the English language at a rapid rate and is now all but fluent. Matt’s first EP has exceeded 7.9 million streams to date.

Proudly from Maniwaki, Québec, Matt has always wanted to bring Nashville to Québec. From 2018 to 2020, he performed over 115 live shows in English to ever-growing crowds, now most often sold-out. Matt and his band opened for Tebey on ‘The Good Ones’ tour in Ontario and Western Canada in Jan/Feb 2020 and they also performed their first European shows in March 2020 at the prestigious C2C Festival in Berlin. He was booked to perform at C2C London, UK, before COVID-19 forced him and his band to return home early. In 2019, Matt won the national SiriusXM Top of the Country competition, three awards at Québec’s Country Gala, SOCAN’s Country Music Prize and got his first ADISQ nomination for English album of the year. Lang released his 2nd English album, ‘More’, on June 5, 2020. Upon release, the album debuted at No.1 on the iTunes all genre chart and on the iTunes country album chart and was the #1 selling album in Quebec (Nielsen) and the #3 selling album in Canada. His singles ‘Getcha’ and ‘In a Bar’ reached Top 5 at Canadian country radio, ‘Only a Woman’ Top 15 and ‘Water Down The Whiskey’ Top 20. In 2020, Matt won a Gala Country award for Live Show of the Year (English) and was nominated for a 2020 Adisq award in the same category. He also received his first CCMA Nomination for Rising Star of the Year. In 2021, he won the English song of the year Socan Award for his single ‘Getcha’. Matt is currently spending time between Quebec and Nashville to work on some new music to be released in 2022.
